My name is Brandy Wales, and I work at The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. As the Lower School Computer Science Teacher and Technology Integration Specialist, I teach 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, while also supporting teachers with educational technology. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana University and am working toward a Master's in Educational Technology from Michigan State University. Welcome to Elementary Design Thinking! In this course, you will learn how to authentically use the Design Thinking process in elementary humanities, science, and math curriculum. A course outline is listed below. Each week is broken into three sections: Discover, Learn, and Do. Discover will spark your interest, Learn will provide you with instructional resources, and Do will provide you the chance to participate, create, and reflect. All necessary technological resources, readings, and multimedia will be available to you through this website.
